Much of the home (located in the Southglen area of St. Vital) was still original from when the owners first purchased the home new. The cabinets were dated, the bathroom was tired, and much of the home just needed updating, The layout of the kitchen felt closed in and didn’t take advantage of the space available.
The owners were considering selling their home and wanted to add value prior to the sale. After consulting with them they instead choose to renovate and continue living in the home.
ACR renovated the bathroom, the kitchen, part of the living room, and a bedroom closet. ACR started by opening up the kitchen by tearing out walls and adding a pony wall and island. ACR added a pocket beam overhead to conceal electrical and was made to match the rest of the decor out of bamboo.
Taking advantage of the new bamboo flooring look many details were added that matched the new flooring. Specifically, trim throughout the renovation and the overhead beam cover).
The bathroom was a complete renovation down to the studs. ACR tiled the floors, replaced the old tub and shower with a new shower unit, added a new dual vanity with a storage tower, and used a sliding barn door to separate the bathroom from the master bedroom.
The kitchen was revamped to modern design standards, opening up the kitchen and updating many features. ACR added an island, installed new quartz tops, added ceiling pot lights, and updated electrical & plumbing connections. Overhead pot lights improved the lighting overall and a new island provided additional counter space and a lovely seating area.
The client still resides in the residence and was very pleased with the renovations. They love the opened-up space and all the added detailing. Finished on time and on budget, this award-winning renovation by ACR was a joy to complete and see this reno to fruition.
