What does the construction process look like during my home renovation?

  1. Prep, prep, prep – all traffic and construction areas are protected to the best of our ability. We attempt to isolate the spot of your home that is being renovated as much as possible and we use dust reduction and other clean air techniques to keep the rest of your home in good shape during the work.
  2. Advise clients of what they can expect – yes, their home will get dirty, and the project may become a bit of an inconvenience to them at times. We treat your home as if it were our own and take care of what we do.
  3. Cleanings – even though we prepare your home, and our work site, as much as possible we still work hard to maintain a high level of cleanliness. This can include cleanings periodically throughout our work. As well, if you need specific assistance during the project, let our team know so we can accommodate you.

Are our sub-trades needed for my home renovation?

Sub-trades (if required) will include plumbers, electricians, HVAC specialists, Painters, Tile setters. All of our sub-trades are companies, long-term or individuals that we have built long term, good-standing relationships with. While they are in your home, they are considered ACR employees.

Do I need to leave while my home is renovated?

Some renovations require you to leave the home (whole house renovations, second-floor additions, main floor additions). Some renovations may require you to vacate for a day or two, or less. Most projects will enable you to remain in your home for the duration of the project. Be prepared for some inconveniences, some dust and dirt, and lots of BBQs (if we are renovating your kitchen!), or use a different washroom (if you have one!)

We utilize a lockbox system with a key you provide us (much like a realtor). Our crews work Monday to Friday, from 8 AM – 4:30 PM

What sort of timeline will my home renovation take?

Every project is different. Some bathroom renovations take 3-4 weeks, some take 2 months. Some kitchen renovations take 8 weeks, some take 16 weeks. Some basement renovations take 12 weeks, some take 20 weeks!
